There's today, where all is fine and dandy, life is wonderful, it's a wonderful world, and there's tomorrow and even the day after tomorrow, when climate change and global warming threaten to perhaps do a double whammy, triple whammy, forever whammy, on the human species. And if that happens, say 500 years from now, to give a generous time frame, then what will happen to all our computer wizardry and gadgethead silliness and Steve Jobs death watch gossip? There will be no more humankind, perhaps, IF we don't take major steps NOW to stop CC and AGW in their tracks. One solution, which the MSM refuses to discuss, except one small New York Times blog item here, is POLAR CITIIES, based on the work of James Lovelcck and designed by an artist in Taiwan Deng Cheng-hong, produced by Nad Moolb in Chiayi, and here are images: http://pcillu101.blogspot.com -- could these polar cities perhaps save humankind from the end days? They will not be at the poles per se, and they won't be cities either, so the name is wrong, but the name caught on so we're going with polar cities as the name. YOUR TAKE, pro and con? Even as a wake up call, a PR wake up call, to stop CO2 emissions now. Does it work? For you?

could happen. then again, maybe not. Ask James Lovelock. He has seen the images and said "Yes, it may very well happen and soon!"

Russia to create Arctic brigades to protect assets as POLAR CITIES become less and less science-fiction scenarios and more and more Lovelockian realities

This is the beginning of the end ......and .......the beginning of the reality of POLAR CITIES sinking in to public conciousness.

see: http://pcillu101.blogspot.com/

JULY 4, 2011 -- Moscow will create two brigades to protect its valuable Arctic resources, Russia’s defense minister said on Friday, anticipating the development of future polar cities worldwide as survivors of climate change in future years clamor for safe refuges in the north. Moscow has walked a fine line between cooperation and aggression in the Arctic, which the world’s top energy producer believes could hold huge reserves of natural gas and oil.

“The General Staff is currently working on plans to create two such units, and we are well aware that polar cities in some future time create major military burdens for us all,” Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov was quoted as telling media by state-run news

It still amazes me the number of people who haven't yet heard of Singularity, or fail to understand the implications of it.

There won't BE a humanity left on Earth by 2050, and it won't be because we've killed ourselves off, as much as the human-hating socialist maniacs would love to believe. Rather, it will be because humanity has evolve beyond its current incarnation into a new species - either through genetic engineering, or cybernetic modification, or likely both.

This has some powerful ramifications, regardless of whether you believe in AGW. For starters, humans (or rather what we evolve into) will be able to survive in a multitude of new environments such as the deep ocean or in space, or on other planets and moons in the solar system. In addition, it is quite possible that human consciousnesses will largely reside in a sort of cyberspace, such that physical bodies are only 'inhabited' for the sake of exploration, maintenance jobs, and recreation. As a result of this, it will be quite irrelevant whether or not Earth is a "water world" by 2500 AD, as not only will humans (or again, the species we evolve into) be easily capable of surviving in such a world, but will have long ago moved into space to acquire new resources and travel the stars.

Please do kindly educate yourselves and expand your imaginations - it sounds downright pedantic to be speaking about technological progress in linear terms these days.
